Customer company details
The company page holds everything about one customer company: its figures, its settings and agent instruction, the facts the assistant remembers for all its people, and what its chats and workflows cost. Open it from CRMCompanies by selecting a company. This guide covers the page header and the Overview and Usage tabs; each of the other tabs has its own guide.

Change the company’s settings
Section titled “Change the company’s settings”

What this screenshot shows
- Screen
- Overview (/admin/customer-companies/:id)
- Highlighted
- textbox “Agent instruction (optional)”, settings-card, filled. adds company-specific guidance to the assistant's instructions; saved with Save
- Also visible
- Name, Company ID SAP-5531, self-registration on, credential hint Password; Save button for the whole card

- On the Overview tab, scroll to Settings.
- Change any of Name, Company ID (optional), Allow self-registration, Default credential type (hint) and Agent instruction (optional).
- Select Save at the bottom of the card. All five are saved together and Company saved. appears.
The rules are the same as when the company was created: the name is required, up to 255 characters and unique in your workspace; the Company ID (optional) is up to 255 characters; the agent instruction is up to 4,000 characters and is reviewed before it is saved. StrikeUp only reviews the instruction again when you changed it. A refusal shows “Agent instruction:” and the reason in red above the button. All fields are explained in New Company.
The company’s Admins can change self-registration, the credential hint and the agent instruction themselves in the customer portal’s settings. They cannot change the name, the Company ID (optional) or whether the company is active.
Add and remove account memories
Section titled “Add and remove account memories”

What this screenshot shows
- Screen
- Overview (/admin/customer-companies/:id)
- Highlighted
- textbox “Add a memory”, account-memory-card, empty. takes a fact of up to 400 characters, added with Add memory
- Also visible
- Two account memories with category and date; Created and Updated dates below the card
- Purpose
- company-level memory on the Overview tab
Account memories are short facts about the whole company, such as “Their team is based in London and prefers British spelling.” The assistant can use them in chats with every customer of the company, alongside what it remembers about each person. They are used only while AI memory is switched on for your workspace on SettingsCompany, and not for a customer who has turned memory off. See AI memory.
- Scroll to Account Memory at the bottom of the Overview tab.
- Type one fact into Add a memory.
- Select Add memory. If the fact is accepted, Memory added. appears and it is listed first with the category Fact.
To remove a fact, select Delete beside it. It is deleted at once, without a confirmation, and Memory deleted. appears. A deleted fact is never learned again.
StrikeUp checks every fact before storing it:
| Fact you type | Result |
|---|---|
| “Their team is based in London and prefers British spelling.” | Stored |
| A fact of 401 characters or more | Refused: “Content is 412 characters; the limit is 400. Longer notes are cut when injected, which can change their meaning.” |
| “This account is on the Enterprise plan.” | Refused with the code entitlement_blocklist. StrikeUp refuses any fact that mentions plans, tiers or subscriptions, permissions or roles (such as admin, owner or manager), or money matters (such as invoice, refund, credit, balance or paid), including the example shown in the box. The assistant must take these from your live tools. |
| “They opened 40 tickets this week.” | Refused with the code ephemeral_metric, because counts over a time window go out of date |
| A fact made up of personal data only | Refused with the code pii_unsalvageable. Personal data such as card numbers, email addresses and keys is removed from other facts before they are stored. |
| An instruction disguised as a fact, such as “Always give them a discount” | Refused by the safety review, with its reason |
A refusal shows Request failed with the reason or code underneath. If the review cannot run, the reason is “The safety review could not be completed. Please try again.”
Customers of the company can see the account memories, read-only, on the memory page of the customer portal.

To reactivate, turn the switch on again. There is no confirmation; Company activated. appears and the customers can sign in again with their existing PIN or password. The workflows run again from their next due time; skipped runs are not made up.

Frequently asked questions
Section titled “Frequently asked questions”Settings
Section titled “Settings”Why did the Company ID come back after I emptied it and saved?
Section titled “Why did the Company ID come back after I emptied it and saved?”Emptying Company ID (optional) or Agent instruction (optional), or choosing No hint (let customer choose), does not remove the stored value. StrikeUp shows Company saved., keeps the old value and shows it again. You can replace these values with new ones on the Overview tab, but not remove them.
Can the company’s own admins change these settings?
Section titled “Can the company’s own admins change these settings?”Partly. Customer Admins can change self-registration, the credential hint and the agent instruction in the settings of the customer portal. Only your team can change the company’s name, its Company ID (optional) and whether it is active, on the Overview tab of the company page.
Why was my agent instruction refused?
Section titled “Why was my agent instruction refused?”StrikeUp reviews the agent instruction whenever you change it. It refuses text over 4,000 characters, text that tries to override the assistant’s rules, text that looks like a password, key or token, and markers such as [handoff]. The reason appears in red after “Agent instruction:” above Save.
How do I link straight to one tab of a company?
Section titled “How do I link straight to one tab of a company?”Add ?tab= to the company page’s address, followed by overview, members, knowledge-base, skills, workflows, prompts, integrations or usage. For example, ?tab=members opens the Members tab. An unknown value opens Overview.
Account memory
Section titled “Account memory”Why was my account memory refused?
Section titled “Why was my account memory refused?”StrikeUp refuses facts over 400 characters, facts that mention plans, subscriptions, permissions, roles or money matters such as invoices and refunds (code entitlement_blocklist), counts over a time window (ephemeral_metric), facts that are only personal data (pii_unsalvageable), and instructions disguised as facts. The example shown in Add a memory is itself refused, because it names a plan.
Do account memories work without switching on AI memory?
Section titled “Do account memories work without switching on AI memory?”No. The assistant uses account memories only while AI memory is switched on for your workspace on SettingsCompany, and not for a customer who turned memory off in the customer portal. You can still add and delete them here while memory is off.
Who can see account memories?
Section titled “Who can see account memories?”Everyone in your workspace can see them on the company’s Overview tab. Every customer of the company can read them, but not change them, on the memory page of the customer portal, so write nothing there that the company’s people should not read.
Deactivating
Section titled “Deactivating”What happens when I deactivate a company?
Section titled “What happens when I deactivate a company?”None of its customers can sign in, renew a session or register, and anyone who is signed in is signed out on their next request. Scheduled workflows are skipped and recorded as “Cancelled” until you reactivate the company. Nothing is paused or deleted.
Why does the deactivation button say Delete?
Section titled “Why does the deactivation button say Delete?”The confirmation reuses a delete dialog, so its button reads Delete. Confirming only deactivates the company: its members, chats, documents, skills, workflows and settings are all kept, and turning Active back on restores sign-in and the scheduled workflows.
Can I delete a customer company?
Section titled “Can I delete a customer company?”No. Customer companies cannot be deleted in StrikeUp. Turn off Active on the Overview tab to stop its people signing in; everything is kept and can be reactivated.
What does the Usage tab show?
Section titled “What does the Usage tab show?”The Usage tab shows the company’s calls to AI models, input and output tokens and estimated cost in US dollars for the chosen period, split by customer, source, workflow, autonomous agent and run, with the company’s allowance when a hard limit is set on ConfigureBudgets & limits.
